Homemade Fried Radish Cake

Fried radish cake or char chai tau kueh in hokkien is hubby's favourite. We used to buy 1 big ready made box at a bakery in Chinatown. It costs about A$7 per box. The texture is always disappointing as it is too soft. They added too much fluid into it. It is also sold for A$7 per serve at the hawker center. That always reminds me that it is merely RM1 to RM2 (A40¢ to 80¢) at the open-air market back home.

We tried making our own from scratch, it turned out great. He loves it fried with bean sprouts, prawns, chilli and chives but I like it in kicap manis, that's sweet soya sauce. I think we'll be making radish cake ourselves from now on.
