Dancing Onions

It feels like I have not been posting anything for quite a while. Almost forgotten that I have a blog!

Since the weather isn't co-operating well lately, I haven't done many outdoors photos. Maybe it's time to shoot a bit of indoor subjects. It seems rather annoying sometime when the subject is simple and ugly, isn't it?

Don't these onions look like they are pairing up and dancing?

My brother hates onions and garlics. Mom had to get him to eat his onions when he was a kid. So, she said to him, "if you don't eat your onions you will not get a girlfriend!" Would you have believed her? Only kids get fooled and they need to be lied to to get these choosy eaters finish what's on their plates.

My kids don't like to eat onions too but will I try to hide them in the dishes.
Nice photo, we seldom find onions with the dried stalk still attached to it here....

That's one beautiful onion!

I don't mind eating onions cooked with other vegetables or meat in soup or other dishes but not raw though.

One thing I never liked is plain onion soup. Yikes!

wow.. just an ordinary onion you could make a nice shoot.. "pei fu pei fu" ;)

Pete,
Is the hiding of the onion in the dish successful?

Mei Teng,
Does that mean you don't like French Onion soup? I think they cook with onion and nothing else but the onion is cooked for a long time until they caramelize.

Hui Ming,
谢谢 :o)

hahaah i think if he eats onion then he WONT get a girlfriend...imagine the breath...ewww...hahahah...anyway the japanese use a lot of onion and not so much of garlic in their cooking, they even have odourless garlic...can u imagine?

Oh wow, Ai Shiang, very creative! Nice vibrant colors. Love how the onions reflected on the table. For some reason your photo glamorized the common onion! :)

I love onion rings!

That's funny! I can imagine the girls lined up to smell onion breath. lol It's true kids can be fooled easily. I like the dancing onions.

Manglish,
I thought so too. But some research actually says it's good for the breath. I'm not so sure on that. Odourless garlic?! What's the point if they want it odourless? It's the fragrance that makes the dishes tasty. Defeat the purpose I think.

Tes,
Thank you for your kind comment. I always try to make my photos interesting in a way. Don't we all love onion rings huh? :o)

James,
Hahaha! If mom did say getting a girlfriend, I wouldn't know what sort of excuse she would make up to get my brother to eat!

Tekkaus,
your reaction makes me laugh out loud! Well, not almost forget, just didn't pay much attention because I had to much to do lately.

Willie, Eugene,
Onions have good anti-oxidant, always good for your health.

Happysurfer,
I'm so glad I put up this pic. I thought of deleting it at first. I got funny reactions from people. And yours really made me laugh!

Very nice shot of the onions! I like onions, be it raw (especially with satay, haha..) or cooked. I used to dislike green peppers (or capsicum) when I was little. It's amazing how our taste buds change over the years.

Ayie,
Oh yes, children need to be lied to. Maybe next time you have to do that too when the little one is choosy in what's goes into the mouth :o)

Unseen Rajasthan,
Thank you.

Adeline,
I do eat lots of things when I was little. I don't recall my mom complaining about me not eating certain things. But she did complain that I ate rather slow. Do you eat bitter gourd too? It repels many people haha!

I have to agree how our taste buds change over the years.

hahaha that can't be tolerated...me and hubs grew up eating waht our parents fed us, no choosing! ours will have to follow too!

happy friday Ai!

These days just blend it in the blender, they won't even know huh?

Gina,
Bohong kids punya lah haha!

Foongpc,
Yeah, I think I will do a bit more indoor shooting. Anything in particular you like to see? :o) I am also running out of options.

Paul,
