Topping Up

Have you ever come across something new that you're so curious, so obsess with it that you'll keep on doing?  Some people like to paint, some would enjoy making their own super powered boats or motorbikes.

Making soaps used to be fun when I started making it in 2008.  Later, I started making my own hair conditioner, body and facial cream.  After some time they don't entertain me no more. I get bore very easily, don't you?  Especially when you knew the secrets behind those stuff.  I reckon I need new hobbies!  Perhaps I should pick up a musical instrument.

Anyway, this brings me back to the fact that I still need to shower and moisturise.  So, I made some top up during the weekend.

I'm visualizing some laboratory in the back of your house. And you are that chemist in a white cloak, concocting your latest invention.

Maybe you should launch your own brand - The Ai Series. (Ai sounds like "love" in Chinese)

Now...you need to sell them on a larger scale. :D

Renaye,
Haha! Better don't eat it :o)

ShingoT, Tekkaus,
More like Alchemist haha! Attempting to change things into Gold. Yes, Ai is 爱 (love). There are so many people know how to make all this stuff in this world. Perhaps would be go to launch in singapore/malaysia where the base ingredient is under government control and licence is needed to make these stuff. Over here in aussie those ingredients can be bought from supermarkets. Besides, I am already in a business (not selling soaps/lotions).

Fufu,
Thanks for the recommendations! That's a funny one, :o) At least, currently my work is keeping me occupied.

You're so right, Ai Shiang. Familiarity does breed boredom sometimes but then again you can chalk it up as another skill mastered.

"The Great Depression Ahead"? How's the book?

Happysurfer,
If it's a hobby I can always find a new one. Once, I was also bored with my profession. Lack of challenges I reckon.

I'm half way through the book. Very interesting. It talks about cycle after cycle. Well, we were meant to have another wave of a big dip in 2010 (I thought so too) but I think their forecast is not accurate anymore 'cos Ben Bernanke keeps manipulating the market. Perhaps that dip will come a bit later.

I am happy that I get to photograph as and when I have the time. A hobby that helps me de-stress from my day job. The challenge is finding new things to photograph or new perspectives.

I remember you can make these colorful soaps! Is also very interesting to make your own hair conditioner, body and facial cream! Well done!

Mei Teng,
Photography has actually been a hobby for me for a long time too. It never fails to challenge us all, doesn't it?

Making soaps, and other body products are easier than you would imagine. The thing is that in Asia the ingredients are being controlled by government while in Australia and other western countries they are easily bought from supermarkets thus making these stuffs are just arm length.

I probably snooze by just reading the topic of your book. Haha! I am just not into deep stuffs. I like to read fiction more - where they let your imagination runs wild.

Gina,
Haha! I tried reading fiction but it didn't manage to keep me awake. I prefer non fiction stuff.

I want to learn how to do those too AI but maybe when baby's bigger so I can have more time to do it.

Ayie,
You should give it a try. They are not hard to make and your family will be using quality soaps and body moisturisers. Besides, raw ingredients are plenty from online shops in the US.
