Quirky Architecture

Federation Square, Melbourne

I notice that Melbourne has quirky architectures especially those modern buildings.  I'm not so sure if quirk is good or bad.  Some structures are interesting but some are too weird and lack harmonic almost like a piece of  lego toy, especially from the exterior's view.

Have you come across eccentric structures before?

I suppose the designers are not concerned about feng shui factors.

I read from the daily the other day of an upside-down exhibition home in Sarawak or Sabah, not too sure. The house is built upside-down and even the inside furniture, etc., are hung upside-down from the ceiling. It'd be quite an experience to visit.

Glad you are able to post more often?

The building looks quirky alrite! I don't mind having such buildings in the city - they add characters to the city. But I won't stay inside such buildings haha!

I like 'arty' structures like these in the city; they make the city more interesting (and add character like what @foongpc said).

Happysurfer,
Upside-down? I think I'll get confuse every single morning when I wake up haha!

I do think that structures that are pleasant to the eyes are very important.

Foongpc,
Haha! Neither would I.

Horsoon,
A few arty structures would be fine. I think there are way too many in Melbourne. It feels like you might just be living in lego land.

Love the look of the building. I read in the newspaper a few year ago highlighting the beauty of Melbourne. Seemed like the city has undergone transformation with arts incorporated into murals, buildings etc.

I doubt such a building will be in my place. Too artistic for the people to appreciate. :p
