Giant Rubber Duck in Darling Harbour

"This is a story about a boy getting ready for his bath when he realises he's lost his rubber duck."   Rubber ducky has found a new bathtub - Sydney.

Thousands flocked the Darling Harbour to watch performances and welcome the arrival of rubber ducky. "The Arrival" is to mark Day One of Sydney Festival 2013. Pyrmont Bridge had to swing open to let it in.  Its size made those men marching across the platform looked quite tiny.

Has rubber ducky visited your city yet?

This would be just the bath-time toy for the kid who got blown up in "Honey, I Blew Up the Kids"

So, Rubber Ducky has come to town? Bet you are looking forward to the festival? Me looking forward to your interesting (as usual) pictures.

You know, Ai Shiang, your top image would make a great postcard. So postcard-perfect!

glad you like the pictures. I couldn't get a shot earlier so had to climb up to the highway to shoot from the top. Then tried again at dusk. Still couldn't get closer. Where did all these people come from! lol!

If I'm in the mood will surely see which event(s) I'll attend.

Haha! Very busy indeed, one after the other, have to queue up lol! I wonder what comes after ducky.

Ya heard about The Duck all over the internet news! A friend even took a shot and sent it back for me :) And he also sent me the screenshot of his iPhone - showing the local temperature of 41c on that afternoon!!

I like your 2nd shot, with the dramatic lighting.

Did everyone feel like jumping into the river for a bath? Haha. Very cute idea!

Mei Teng,
I believe rubber duck travels around the world but will not stop in open water/ocean.

Rubber ducky just left the bathtub.

One day was 42c and it lasted 25 hours. That was terribly hot! And another day was 46c and only lasted for 6 hours. Hopefully no more heat wave for Sydney. It's best to stay indoors otherwise easily get heat stroke.

I think so too. Hopefully they have another creative idea next year :♦)
