International Fleet Review

These were taken during a week long International Fleet Review. It's a Navy event. The Chief of Navy invited over 50 nations to send their warships and/or tallships to commemorate the centenary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet into Sydney. The celebration was grand with spectacular lightshow and fireworks shooting up from warships, 70 helicopters synchronising, fighter jets roared through the azure sky and sent waves to the structures on the ground.

These warships and/or tallships will leave Sydney for Auckland next.

Tallships were used in the early histories for battles, where no motors were in existence but only wind-power.

The shots of the fireworks are spectacular; I've always wanted to photograph fireworks but can never to as good as these.

But I like the slightly-distorted wide angle shot of the tallship best in this series; you framed it just beautifully : )
